About the Westside PTA
We are parents, guardians, teachers, and neighbors, all volunteers, working to make Westside the best school it can be.

Westside Elementary PTA exists to help our school community lead, grow, and inspire. In practice that means three things: volunteering, raising money, and running the programs and events that make a year at Westside feel like something.
We are a local unit of Texas PTA and a 501(c)(3) organization, run entirely by volunteers. Our members vote on the budget, and our treasurer reports on it at every general meeting.
We work alongside Principal Amanda Lillard and the Westside staff rather than around them.

Multicultural Night, Fall Fest, Movie Night, Hugs and Mugs, the garden, and the events that get families through the door.

Programs and enrichment
Reflections, Math Pentathlon, Spelling Bee, Talent Show, Science Night, and the student and staff grants that fund classroom ideas.

Representing Westside at the LISD Council of PTAs and with Texas PTA, and keeping families informed about district decisions.
Fundraising
Fundraising
Membership, spirit wear, sponsorships, and our two annual fundraisers, which pay for everything above.
How we are organized
How we are organized
An elected board of officers and chairs runs the day-to-day work, with committees for the bigger jobs. Board meetings are monthly during the school year, and there are four general membership meetings, in September, November, February, and April, where members vote. Everyone serves a one-year term from June through May.
